Terror Attacks in the Sinai: Is NATO Preparing a Grab for the Suez Canal?

A Culture of Delusion

Paul Craig Roberts
Institute For Political Economy
September27, 2012

A writer’s greatest disappointments are readers who have knee-jerk responses. Not all readers, of course. Some readers are thoughtful and supportive. Others express thanks for opening their eyes. But the majority are happy when a writer tells them what they want to hear and are unhappy when he writes what they don’t want to hear.

For the left-wing, Ronald Reagan is the great bogeyman. Those on the left don’t understand supply-side economics as a macroeconomic innovation that cured stagflation by utilizing the impact of fiscal policy on aggregate supply. Instead, they see “trickle-down economics” and tax cuts for the rich.

Leftists don’t understand that the Reagan administration intervened in Grenada and Nicaragua in order to signal to the Soviets that there would be no more Soviet expansion or client states and that it was time to negotiate the end of the cold war. Instead, leftists see in Reagan the origin of rule by the one percent and the neoconservatives’ wars for US hegemony.

In 1981 curtailing inflation meant collapsing nominal GNP and tax revenues. The result would be budget deficits–anathema to Republicans– during the period of readjustment. Ending the cold war meant curtailing the military/security complex and raised the specter in conservative circles of “the anti-Christ” Gorbachev deceiving Reagan and taking over the world.

In pursuing his two main goals, Reagan was up against his own constituency and relied on rhetoric to keep his constituency on board with his agenda. The left wing heard the rhetoric but failed to comprehend the agenda.

Almost Half Of All Americans Support Domestic Surveillance Drones

Steve Watson
Infowars
Sept 28, 2012

Close to half of Americans say they are in favour of police departments deploying surveillance drones domestically.

According to a survey conducted by The Associated Press and The National Constitution Center, 44 percent support the idea of police using unmanned aerial vehicles to track suspects and carry out investigations.

Only 36 percent said that they “strongly oppose” or “somewhat oppose” police use of drones, according to the survey.

The poll also found that only one third of Americans say they are significantly concerned about their privacy being eroded by the adoption of drones by police forces throughout the country.

Thrity-five percent of respondents said they were “extremely concerned” or “very concerned” when asked if they believed that police departments’ use of drones for surveillance would impact their privacy.

Almost exactly the same number, 36 percent, noted that they were “not too concerned” or “not concerned at all”, while twenty-four percent were neutral on the issue, saying they were only “somewhat concerned” about a potential loss of privacy.

Forget Your Free Phone, Obama Has Screwed The Poor

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars
September 28, 2012

A video clip posted by the Drudge Report that has since gone viral which shows an Obama supporter semi-incoherently blathering about how she is voting for Obama because the government gave her a free phone tragically underscores how the state exploits dependency by offering poor people trinkets while simultaneously stealing their entire economic future.

Once you have recovered from the hilarity of the video clip, the awful truth behind it begins to sink in. While this Obama voter screeches about her government-provided cellphone, Obama has been busy screwing the poor at every turn.

To clarify, the “Obama Cell Phone” program has provided 269,000 poor Americans with free phones and monthly service at a cost of over $1.6 billion dollars to the taxpayer, a figure that keeps rising every year.
The video harks back to a 2008 clip during which an Obama voter gushed about how Obama’s election victory meant she no longer had to worry about paying her mortgage or filling her car with gas.

14 Signs That The World Economy Is Getting Weaker

Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse
September 28, 2012

The United States is not the only one with massive economic problems right now.  The truth is that just about wherever you look around the globe things are getting even worse.  China is experiencing a substantial economic slowdown, and Japan has resorted to yet another round of money printing in an effort to keep the Japanese economy moving.  Unemployment in Europe continues to get even worse, and the riots this week in Spain and in Greece have been absolutely frightening at times.  In the United States there are a whole host of signs that another recession is approaching, and the number of American CEOs that say that they plan to eliminate jobs in the coming months is rapidly rising.  The world economy is more interconnected today than ever before, and that means that we are all in this together.  Just remember what happened back in 2008 and 2009.  The economic pain that started on Wall Street was felt in every corner of the planet.  So anyone that believes that the United States (or any other major nation for that matter) is going to escape the next wave of the economic crisis is simply not being realistic.  Why do you think central banks all over the world are in "panic mode" right now?  They are firing all of their ammunition and printing money like there is no tomorrow in an attempt to keep the system together.  Unfortunately, it is not going to work.

If the powers that be had an "easy button" that would quickly fix everything, they would have pressed it by now.  But despite all of their efforts things continue to unravel.  If you want to get an idea of where we are headed,  just look at what is already happening in Europe.   Unemployment has risen above 24 percent in Greece and above 25 percent in Spain.

Those two nations are on the "bleeding edge" of the next wave of economic problems.  Unemployment is rising almost everywhere else in Europe as well, and things are eventually going to get really bad in Asia and in North America too.

So hold on to your seat belts - it is going to be a bumpy ride.

The following are 14 signs from around the globe that the world economy is getting weaker....

Israel Lobbyist suggests False Flag attack to start war with Iran

Will Israel Blow Up Something and Falsely Blame It On Iran?

Washington's Blog
September 27, 2012

According to U.S. officials, Israel is training and supporting Iranian terrorists who are trying to topple the Iranian government. Those Israeli-funded terrorists have faked documents to falsely indicate that Iran is building a nuclear bomb. 1

Israel has admitted to previous use of false flag attacks to justify war against Middle Eastern nations.
For example, Israel admits that an Israeli terrorist cell operating in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including U.S. diplomatic facilities, then left behind “evidence” implicating the Arabs as the culprits (one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to identify the bombers, and several of the Israelis later confessed) (and see this and this).

Numerous high-level government officials have warned that a false flag may be launched against Iran to start a war: 2

5 Foods NOT to Eat While Sick or Battling a Cold

Elizabeth Renter
Activist Post
September 27, 2012

It’s almost that time of year, where we start passing around colds like we pass around the holiday dishes. While there are numerous sources out there for natural cold remedies (garlic, ginger, hydration, etc.), it’s also good to know which foods to avoid while sick or battling a cold. By eliminating these foods, while hopefully consuming immune-boosting foods, you can recover more quickly and reduce the severity of your symptoms.

1. Alcohol

Alcohol weakens your immune system and dehydrates you. Both of these can make your colds more miserable and leave you with an even worse morning. Grandma’s hot toddy might clear things up for a short time, but take it easy and don’t overdo it. If you come down with a cold, steer clear of most alcohol in order to keep your body optimally hydrated and your immune system functioning on high.

2. Dairy Products

Dairy products may be on the fence (in small portions), as consuming them may not aggravate some while doing so to others. Dairy products can increase mucus production, and mucus is one thing you don’t need more of when you are sick. If ice cream feels good on your throat, opt for a different frozen dessert like frozen fruit bars. These will numb your scratchy throat and deliver some useful vitamin C.

Chicago Strike Reaches Stalemate as OWS Sinks into Irrelevance

Webster G. Tarpley
Islam Times
September 23, 2012

The Chicago public schools are the third largest school system in the United States, and with almost 30,000 members the Chicago Teachers Union is one of the flagships of public sector labor in the country.

The strike was provoked by the bullying of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a former top official of the Clinton White House who had most recently served as the White House Chief of Staff for Obama. The teachers have suspended their strike pending a vote on whether to go back to work, but it is already clear that the results of this long-overdue labor action are disappointing.

Since the 19th century, the United States has had a strong tradition of free, universal, compulsory education, and no country can hope to remain competitive in today’s world without an effective educational system. Nevertheless, it is now the ambition of powerful corporate predators to asset-strip the US school system in the same way that Mitt Romney’s Bain Capital vulture firm has asset-stripped and destroyed so many companies.

These corporate privatizers want to realize the fabulous profits by putting an end to the Chicago public schools. In this enterprise, they are joined by a lobby of so-called “education reformers,” represented nationally by such super rich plutocrats as Bill and Melinda Gates, Eli Broad, and others, who have no background in education. The approach of these pseudo-reformers claims that the existence of teachers’ unions capable of collective bargaining is a betrayal of low income black and Hispanic pupils in big-city schools. They, therefore, claim that busting the unions will provide more resources for these pupils.

This philosophy of education “reform” is emphatically shared by Obama, who made his own attempt 20 years ago to destroy the Chicago Teachers Union through an initiative known as the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. This attack failed, mainly because of support from black parents for the teachers’ union. Another of these fake reformers is Obama’s Secretary of Education, Arnie Duncan, who calls his union-busting program the Race to the Top. The ultimate outcome of this campaign is likely to be the end of free, universal, public education in the United States, with literacy becoming the privilege of the wealthy, as it was in the 19th century. Naturally, no modern nation can survive on this basis, but the incompetent US ruling elite is unable to see beyond their greedy desire to profit from the destruction of the teachers union and the public schools.

30 Examples of Why America Is No Longer a Free Country

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars
September 25, 2012

From people being harassed for paying by cash or having a food garden, to Americans being arrested for letting their children play outside – innumerable examples over the past few months alone illustrate that the United States is no longer a free country.

The nanny state is no longer just on steroids, it has turned into the Incredible Hulk as collectivism, pernicious bureaucracy, regulation, mass surveillance and outright tyranny runs wild across the country.
Here are just a selection of stories from scores of recent examples illustrating how America is ‘land of the Free, home of the brave’ no more.

- Parents across the country are being arrested for letting their children play outside. A stay at home mom in Texas was held in jail for 18 hours for allowing her children to ride on scooters while she was watching them from her home. A mother in Virginia was also harassed by social services and police for the egregious crime of allowing their children to play outside in another example of how the nanny state is running wild in America.

- The war on lemonade stands, traditionally viewed as a quaint example of America’s entrepreneurial spirit, has intensified in recent months with cops slapping parents with fines for letting their kids run “unlicensed” lemonade stands in three separate incidents over the last year alone. A map of restrictions on child-run concession stands illustrates how there have been dozens of examples of police interference across the country.

- After an 11-year battle with the state of Oregon, landowner Gary Harrington was found guilty under a 1925 law and sentenced to spend 30 days in jail for collecting rainwater in three “illegal reservoirs” despite the fact that they are on his property.

Damascus Twin Blast: Iranian Press TV Journalist Maya Naser Killed [VIDEO]

Gianluca Mezzofiore
International Business Times
September 26, 2012

Iranian Press TV has confirmed that reporter Maya Naser was killed by snipers in Damascus after twin explosions targeted one of Syria's main military buildings, the General Staff Command Building.

Naser had tweeted, "Twin explosions hit the Syrian capital this morning, one in Omawyeen Square and the other in Abu Remanneh #Damascus," shortly before he died.

In June, as Press TV's political analyst, he claimed that Israel wanted to push the world to launch airstrikes against Syria and claimed that the Israelis had been spreading disinformation since the Syria uprising began in February 2011.

"This is not the first time they [Israelis] do this," Naser said. "The Syrian army is not using any chemical weapons or even heavy artillery weapons against civilians."

Footage has emerged on YouTube allegedly showing the Syrian defence ministry building on fire after the double blasts in the centre of Damascus. The scale of the damage was not known but there have been reports of gunfire in the area.

American distrust in deceptive mainstream media hits an all-time high

J.D. Heyes
Natural News
September 26, 2012

If you're an avid reader of Natural News, maybe the headline of this story doesn't surprise you because, obviously, you are here for information you just can't get in the so-called "establishment" mainstream media. But perhaps you didn't quite know the extent of the mistrust the American people have for the Fourth Estate, which was, at our nation's founding, given unique and unprecedented freedoms so as to afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted.

So much for the original agreement. According to a recent Gallup survey, Americans' distrust of the media hit a record high this year, "with 60 percent saying they have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly."

That alarming figure is the result of a trend seen worsening over the past few years as more and more Americans became less and less trustful of Big Media.

Flu vaccines are highly ineffective and toxic

Dr. David Jockers
Natural News
September 26, 2012

Every year, physicians recommend that people get flu shots to bolster their immune system and prevent getting the flu. The ideology behind flu vaccines is that humans are unable to adapt to their environment and must depend on modern technology to survive the seasons. Flu vaccines have been shown to be highly ineffective and toxic for human and animal use.

Vaccines are one of medicine's prized attempt to improve human performance. They use artificial laboratory derived medical technology to produce an immune response within the body in hopes it will lead to a long-term positive anti-body response. The American Medical Association is especially vigilant about requiring those they deem as immune compromised to get the flu shot. This includes infants and children, pregnant women and seniors.

The vaccine ideology is based on the belief that people are created with inferior immune systems that are unable to keep up with the demands of the environment and need modern technology in the form of man-made vaccine formulations in order to bolster immunity.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, "The following substances are found in flu vaccines: aluminum, antibiotics, egg protein, formaldehyde, human aborted fetal apparatus (dead human tissue), monosodium glutamate (MSG), and thimerosol (mercury)."

Flu vaccines are directly linked to about a dozen cases of paralysis and brain damage each year. Many researchers believe these flu vaccine cocktails produce delayed reactions and long-term health consequences.

Dr. Hugh Fudenberg, a world-leading immunogeneticist, has extensively studied the effects of the flu vaccine on neurological health. The results of his research indicate that an individual has a 10-time greater chance of getting Alzheimer's disease after receiving five flu shots in the course of their life compared to individuals who have had zero to one shot in their lifetime.

Dr. Fudenberg and other researchers believe the increased risk of Alzheimer's is a result of the combination of mercury and aluminum within the flu vaccine. Individuals with poor blood sugar signaling and weakened anti-oxidant defense systems will bio-accumulate these heavy metals in areas of their brain with repeated vaccine and other environmental exposure.

Quantitative Easing Did Not Work For The Weimar Republic Either

Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse
September 25, 2012

Did printing vast quantities of money work for the Weimar Republic?  Nope.  And it won't work for us either.  If printing money was the secret to economic success, we could just print up a trillion dollars for every American and be done with it.  The truth is that making everyone in America a trillionaire would not mean that we would all suddenly be wealthy.  There would be the same amount of "real wealth" in our economy as before.  But what it would do is render our currency meaningless and totally destroy faith in our financial system.  Sadly, we have not learned the lessons that history has tried to teach us.  Back in April 1919, it took 12 German marks to get 1 U.S. dollar.  By December 1923, it took approximately 4 trillion German marks to get 1 U.S. dollar.  So was the Weimar Republic better off after all of the "quantitative easing" that they did or worse off?  Of course they were worse off.  They destroyed their currency and wrecked all confidence in their financial system.  There was an old joke that if you left a wheelbarrow full of money sitting around in the Weimar Republic that thieves would take the wheelbarrow and they would leave the money behind.  Will things eventually get that bad in the United States someday?

Of course we are not going to see hyperinflation in the U.S. this week or this month.

But don't think that it will never happen.

The people of Germany never thought that it would happen to them, but it did.

The following is an excerpt from a Wikipedia article about the Weimar Republic.  Take note of the similarities between what the Weimar Republic experienced and what we are going through today....

"Text-a-Tip" Snitch Program Invades Small-Town America

Brandon Turbeville

September 25, 2012

In yet another example of the Big Brother-style snitch culture being fostered and implemented all across the country, the city of Marion, South Carolina, is now demonstrating how the oppressive surveillance state is no longer limited to large metropolitan areas and bigger cities already conditioned to living under the watchful eye of government. Now, even small towns such as Marion, with a population of 6,939 people, are getting in on the act.

According to WMBF News, the Marion Police Department is launching a new program that allows citizens to report “crimes” via text message.

The Department’s new “Text-a-Tip” program is scheduled to be operational by the end of September of this year. Much like the now infamous “See Something, Say Something” program being implemented by DHS in Wal-Marts, Hotels, and other available television screens, the MPD is encouraging everyone to text message (843) 430-0938 if they see a crime in progress or even so much as what they deem to be “suspicious activity.”

Man Crushed by Steamroller On Orders of Chinese Officials

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars
September 25, 2012

A villager in northern China attempting to resist a forced government relocation by remaining on his land was brutally crushed to death by a road flattening truck on the orders of a Chinese government official.

The story, which was censored in China’s state controlled media, has caused outrage amongst users of Weibo, the Chinese version of Twitter, given it’s horrifying similarity to what happened to student protesters who were crushed to death by tanks during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989.

The victim, He Zhi Hua, refused to accept a paltry payment from the government which has forcefully evicted Changsha Village locals in order to re-appropriate their land for commercial use.

When Hua began a protest by lying down on the spot through which construction vehicles had to pass, the local Vice Mayor ordered workers for the state-owned company to murder Hua by driving over his body with a huge road-flattening truck.

Shocking images show Hua’s pulverized brains and his mangled body in the aftermath of the state-sponsored execution.

Fearing unrest if the story got out to a wider audience, the government sent in 200 men to keep angry locals at bay and hide the remains of the body. The man’s family was offered a sum of money in order to keep quiet about the incident.

Cattle Now Being Fed Cookies and Candies Instead of Real Food

Anthony Gucciardi
Natural Society
September 24, 2012

Just when you thought the news couldn’t get any stranger regarding the disturbing state of the agricultural industry, it most certainly has.

In an effort to slash costs and increase profits, livestock corporations have now begun feeding their cattle super cheap processed foods like cookies, gummy worms, chocolate, fruit loops and a whole list of candies. Fattening up the cattle thanks to a large percentage of sugar content and no real nutritional value, the disease-riddled cattle end up fetching a larger price for farm owners.

The fruit loops-fed cattle also may end up on your dinner table, harboring even more dangerous additives than even cattle fed a diet of corn. Before accounting for the new diet of cookies and candy, conventionally raised cattle meat contains oftentimes an excessive amount of antibiotics (now admitted to be harming human health internationally), artificial hormones such as Monsanto’s cloned growth hormone rBGH, resistant bacteria, genetically modified organisms (from corn) and other contaminants. Now, however, a few new problematic substances have entered the equation.

For Rent: Your Very Own Agenda 21 “Shoebox” Apartment

Melissa Melton
Infowars
September 25, 2012

Image by Melissa Melton of Infowars.comWhile some people are still debating whether or not the United Nations’ Agenda 21 plan is real, major cities all over the country are about to offer more proof of its implementation in the form of tiny, “shoebox-style” housing units barely big enough for one person to live in.

New York and Boston are already beta testing itty bitty apartments, and yesterday the LA Times reported that San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors is considering official revisions to the city’s building code to allow for even less living space.

If approved, the new quarters — branded as “affordable by design” — would drop minimum housing code requirements to a mere 220 square feet from 290, only 150 of which could be considered actual living space (unless sleeping in a closet counts). To give some perspective on just how small 220 square feet of space really is, the inside of an average school bus is approximately 250 square feet. A person’s entire apartment would be small enough to fit inside the bus — bathroom, kitchen, and closet included. This vision of an austere lifestyle could hardly accommodate one person, let alone someone with a spouse, children, or pets.

While such housing is designed to dissuade people from owning a car in favor of bicycles and mass transit use, opponents are right to note that such a move could spike population density and strain both community spaces and public transportation systems.

The question remains, will anyone actually go along with this scheme? In a recent man-on-the-street report for Infowars Nightly News, I asked people if they would live in these prison-like units if it would benefit the Earth. As you can see below, many said they would:

Complex Regional Pain Syndrome & Vaccinations

September 24, 2012

Researchers published a paper in August 2012 about a side effect of vaccinations: Complex regional pain syndrome type 1. The authors are Stephanie Richards and George Chalkiadis of the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne; Raman Lakshman of the Department of Pediatrics, West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust, Suffolk, UK; Jim P Buttery of the Murdock Children’s Research Institute and the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Unit, Monash Children’s Hospital, Monash University in Melbourne; and Nigel W Crawford of Royal Children’s Hospital, Murdock Children’s Research Institute, and Department of Pediatrics, The University of Melbourne in Melbourne.

Complex regional pain syndrome previously was recognized as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy that was characterized by severe pain, swelling and changes to the skin, per Wikipedia. It has been associated with dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system. According to Wikipedia, type 1, also known as Sudeck’s atrophy, does not have demonstrable nerve lesions. Interestingly though, Wikipedia states that causes are unknown.

However, the Archives of Disease in Childhood [2012;97:10,913-15] paper “Complex regional pain syndrome following immunisation,” states that complex regional pain syndrome type 1 (CRPS-1) can affect one or more extremities characterized by persistent pain with “at least one sign of autonomic dysfunction in the affected limb(s).”

The paper goes on to state several precipitating factors. Perhaps the most candid report of all is that CRPS-1 occurs following “immunisation with rubella and hepatitis B vaccines.”

Will The GMO-Breast Cancer Link Be Pink-Washed Away?

Sayer Ji
GreenMedInfo
September 23, 2012

With Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) less than two weeks away, the latest bombshell GMO/Roundup study produced by a French research team, and presently making international headlines, is well-timed. The researchers found, in the first long-term GM corn and Roundup feeding study of its kind, that female rats, exposed to concentrations well below official safety limits, developed massive, progressive mammary tumors which either lead to premature death, or required euthanasia due to their great suffering.

Why would this be of concern to BCAM? After all, BCAM is the annual pinkwashing celebration, where people collectively and forcibly remove the thought of there being preventable and treatable causes of breast cancer from their minds, hurl themselves over the lemming-like cliff of cause-marketing, e.g. Buckets for a Cure, sacrificing their time, energy and money raising billions more for a pharmaceutical cure for a pharmaceutically incurable condition. This annual ritual celebrates ribbon-wearing vacuity, pretending like "carcinogens" don't exist, or that it doesn't matter that a carcinogen-producing chemical company, now defunct Imperial Chemical Industries, and its pharmaceutical subsidiary, Zeneca, co-founded Breast Cancer Awareness Month in 1985.

Zeneca, of course, merged with Astra AB in 1999, becoming AstraZeneca, manufacturer of the breast cancer blockbuster drugs Arimidex and Tamoxifen. By pushing for widespread adoption of breast screenings they generated millions of new and future customers (mammography-induced breast cancer), even while one of the main forms of mammography-detected cancer, Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), is often intrinisically benign, better left untreated with conventional, highly toxic "therapies" like radiation and chemotherapy.

French Surgeon in Aleppo: Many Syrian and Foreign Jihadists among Injured

French Surgeon: Half of Rebels In Syria Are Al-Qaeda Terrorists

Paul Joseph Watson
PrisonPlanet
September 25, 2012

A French Surgeon who worked at a hospital in Aleppo admits that at least half of the militants he treated for injuries were Al-Qaeda terrorists whose goal is to impose sharia law across Syria and the whole region.

These are the same rebels being funded to the tune of tens of million of dollars by the Obama administration.

During an interview with France Info, Jacques Bérès, founder of Doctors Without Borders, said that although the city of Aleppo is portrayed as a rebel stronghold, it still has many areas that are loyal to Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.

Bérès added that most of the people he treated were fighters and relatively few were civilians or children. This contradicts the claim routinely made by establishment media outlets that the Syrian government is indiscriminately bombing its own citizens.

Asked if the fighters he treated were Jihadists or Salafists, Bérès responded, “I would say at least half of them are Salafist Jihadists with the headband with Quranic verses, even the cars transporting them had Al-Qaeda flags on them, and the Salafist look with the mustache gone while keeping a beard.”

Bérès explained that his job was to treat wounds and not to make judgments on political motivations. However, he revealed that some of the fighters were French jihadists, including two he talked with who said they saw Mohamed Merah, the Islamic terrorist who attacked and killed two French soldiers as well as three children at a Jewish day school in Toulouse earlier this year, as an “example to follow.”

Now Taiwan Is Also Claiming The Senkaku Islands: 70 Fishing Boats Set Sail To Stake Claim

Tyler Durden
Zero Hedge
September  24, 2012

If you thought it was complicated when "only" China and Japan were disputing the recent escalation in property rights over who owns those three particular rock in the East China Sea, to be henceforth called the Senkaku Islands for simplicity's sake because things are about to get far more confusing, here comes Taiwan, aka the Republic of China, not to be confused with the People's Republic of China for the simple reason that the latter officially asserts itself to be the sole legal representation of China and actively claims Taiwan to be under its sovereignty, denying the status and existence of ROC as a sovereign state (yet one which benefits from US backing), to also stake its claim over the disputed Senkaku Islands. It has done so in a very confusing manner: by replicating what it thinks China did some days ago when an "armada" of 1000 fishing boats set sail in an unknown direction and which the trigger happy media immediately assumed was in direction Senkaku. It subsequently turned out that this was not the case and as we reported, "China's fishing season stops every year in June-September in the East China Sea, where the islands are located. This year, the ban was lifted on Sunday." In short the (PR)China fishing boat amrada was not headed toward the Senkakus. Taiwan however did not get the memo, and as NKH reports, "several dozen Taiwanese fishing boats have set sail for the disputed Senkaku islands in the East China Sea, to claim access to their fishing grounds."

So to summarize: a country which (PR)China claims does not exist and is under its own sovereign control, has replicated what it thought was (PR)China's strategic move to reclaim the Senkaku Islands (which was nothing of the sort), and is sending its own fishing boat armada to reclaim islands whose ownership has sent Japan and (PR)China on the verge of more than mere diplomatic warfare. The only thing that could make this any more confusing is if someone discovered title deeds ceding ownership of the Senkakus to Japan, the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China at the same time, and signed by Linda Green.

For Pentagon Chief Leon Panetta, a recent wave of "green-on-blue" (or insider attacks) on US and NATO troops - ie the Afghan version of friendly fire - are just the "last gasp" of a bunch of frustrated Taliban.
That does remind one of Don Rumsfeld's "remnants" of Saddam's regime, who duly morphed into hardcore Sunni Iraqi guerrillas and gave hell to the US occupation.

Back to reality, even US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey had to admit, "something has to change". Only in 2012, Afghan security forces killed 51 NATO soldiers - and counting.
That may not be much compared to scores of civilian victims, aka "collateral damage", of the shadowy CIA drone war against the Pakistani tribal areas. Not to mention the recent US raid that killed eight Afghan women and girls who were engaged in an extremely subversive plot to collect firewood.

Oh yes - but this is "them", not "us".

Anyway, something did change. NATO's new spin on "green-on-blue" is right up the scale down alley. From now on, joint patrols or any "interaction" with Afghans will only go on at least at battalion level (which group 500 or even 800 members).

It was - surprise! - a unilateral Pentagon decision. No NATO partners or even the Afghans themselves were consulted.

So here's the instant spinless translation - if any was needed.

Harvard now ridiculously insists that fluoride only lowers IQ levels outside the United States

Ethan Huff
NaturalNews
September 25, 2012

Intense industry pressure to continue mass medicating Americans with fluoride chemicals via public water supplies has apparently influenced Harvard University researchers to backtrack on a recent study they conducted that verified fluoride chemicals lower IQ levels in children. We are now being told the absurd lie that fluoride is only detrimental to people in other countries, and that Americans need not worry about ingesting and bathing in the toxic brew here in the states.

A recent pro-fluoride article published by the industry-backed Wichita Eagle petitions Wichitans, who will soon vote on whether or not to fluoridate their local water supply, not to oppose the city's upcoming fluoride measure based on the Harvard study because the study's findings allegedly only apply to Chinese children. The piece encourages Wichitans to essentially ignore this and other science showing the dangers of fluoride, or at least pretend as though none of it applies to them.

And the reason these pro-fluoride fanatics are using to make the ridiculous claim that the Harvard study's findings do not apply in the U.S. is that the fluoride levels evaluated in China were supposedly far higher than they typically are in domestic water supplies. Thus, consuming or bathing in fluoridated municipal water poses little risk, they say, so drink up!

DARPA Continues Human Experiments to Create Military Super Soldiers

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has a $2 billion yearly budget for research into creating a super solider as well as developing a synthetic police force. Working with the human genome, DARPA hopes to manipulate certain gene expressions. In experimentation, DARPA and the military industrial pharmaceutical complex are using natural abilities that are enhanced through genetic engineering.
Some of the medical feats DARPA would like to enhance are the ability of military soldiers to regrow limbs destroyed in battle.

By eliminating empathy, the Department of Defense (DoD) hopes to “enhance” a soldier’s ability to “kill without care or remorse, shows no fear, can fight battle after battle without fatigue and generally behave more like a machine than a man.”

Scientists are researching the construction of soldiers that feel no pain, terror and do not suffer from fatigue as tests on the wiring of the human brain are furthered by Jonathan Moreno, professor of bioethics at Pennsylvania State University. Moreno is working with the DoD in understanding neuroscience. The Pentagon allocated $400 million to this research.

Further study could be passed onto the general public in order to maximize profits as well as enhance the drug’s effectiveness. According to Joel Garreau, professor at Arizona University, DARPA is learning how to genetically modify human fat into pure energy by rewiring the metabolic switch which would create soldiers that require less food. By using gene therapy and combining enhancements to alter the color of the human eye is a blending of mutations that have no basis in the natural world.

In 2011, the British Academy of Medical Sciences published a paper explaining the necessity for “new rules to avoid ethical missteps.” Specifying the injection of human brain cells into animals that may give animals human memories or thought consciousness as the goal should be dealt with differently than a non-modified animal.

QE4? The Big Wall Street Banks Are Already Complaining That QE3 Is Not Enough

Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse
September 25, 2012

QE3 has barely even started and some folks on Wall Street are already clamoring for QE4.  In fact, as you will read below, one equity strategist at Morgan Stanley says that he would not be "surprised" if the Federal Reserve announced another new round of money printing by the end of the year.  But this is what tends to happen when a financial system starts becoming addicted to easy money.  There is always a deep hunger for another "hit" of "currency meth".  Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke was probably hoping that QE3 would satisfy the wolves on Wall Street for a while.  His promise to recklessly print 40 billion dollars a month and use it to buy mortgage-backed securities is being called "QEInfinity" by detractors.  During QE3, nearly half a trillion dollars a year will be added to the financial system until the Fed decides that it is time to stop.  This is so crazy that even former Federal Reserve officials are speaking out against it.  For example, former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker says that QE3 is the "most extreme easing of monetary policy" that he could ever remember.  But the big Wall Street banks are never going to be satisfied.  If QE4 is announced, they will start calling for QE5.  As I noted in a previous article, quantitative easing tends to pump up the prices of financial assets such as stocks and commodities, and that is very good for Wall Street bankers.  So of course they want more quantitative easing.  They always want bigger profits and bigger bonus checks at the end of the year.

But at this point the Federal Reserve has already "jumped the shark".  If you don't know what "jumping the shark" means, you can find a definition on Wikipedia right here.  Whatever shreds of credibility the Fed had left are being washed away by a flood of newly printed money.

Those running the Fed have essentially used up all of their bullets and the next great financial crisis has not even fully erupted yet.

So what is the Fed going to do if the stock market crashes and the credit market freezes up like we saw back in 2008?

How much more extreme can the Fed go?

One can just picture "Helicopter Ben" strapping on a pair of water skis and making the following promise....
"We are going to print so much money that we'll make Zimbabwe and the Weimar Republic look like wimps!"

U.S. Government Embraces the Same Iranian Terrorist Group that Bush Cited When He Alleged that Saddam Was Sponsoring “International Terrorism”

Government Arbitrarily Puts Organizations On and Off and Back On Terrorist List to Suit Its Shifting Political Goals

We’ve long noted that the Americans who are the biggest scaremongers regarding terrorism are themselves supporting terrorists … such as the Iranian MEK group.  And see this, this and this.

Indeed, any objective analysis of the facts find that the U.S. may be the world’s largest promoter of terrorism.  And see this.

Anyone who questions the U.S. may be labeled as a “potential terrorist“.

When America does anything, it’s a-okay … but when anyone else does what America does they’re labeled a terrorist.

Moreover, organizations are labeled as terrorists, then de-listed, and then re-listed … depending on ever-changing American policy objectives.

For example, two-time Emmy award-winning 20/20 news producer Danny Schecther writes:

In New York, defiant Ahmadinejad says Israel will be “eliminated”

Louis Charbonneau
Reuters
September 24, 2012

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Monday disregarded a U.N. warning to avoid incendiary rhetoric and declared ahead of the annual General Assembly session that Israel has no roots in the Middle East and would be “eliminated.”

Ahmadinejad also said he did not take seriously the threat that Israel could launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities, denied sending arms to Syria, and alluded to Iran’s threats to the life of British author Salman Rushdie.

The United States quickly dismissed the Iranian president’s comments as “disgusting, offensive and outrageous.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hinted Israel could strike Iran’s nuclear sites and criticized U.S. President Barack Obama’s position that sanctions and diplomacy should be given more time to stop Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Facebook Publishes Private Messages In Privacy Breach

Shane Richmond
London Telegraph
September 24, 2012

Facebook has been flooded with complaints from users who say some of their old private messages have been re-published publicly on the social network.

However, Facebook denied that there had been a privacy breach and claimed the messages were old public messages that were being reposted because of a bug.

Some users said that messages they had sent privately on the social network between 2007 and 2009 were being republished into their public timelines on the site. Though it was not clear how many people were affected, there were complaints from users in Britain, America and in Europe.

Colleen Taylor, a writer for an American technology website, said that she had confirmed with friends that messages appearing in their timelines were originally sent as private messages.

Health Canada to review GM corn study, promises action

SARAH SCHMIDT
Postmedia News
September 23, 2012

Health Canada said this week it will take action if its review of a new study, which found Canadian-grown genetically modified corn is linked to elevated risks of cancer, organ damage and premature death in rats, “demonstrates a risk” to Canadians.

The first-ever GM food safety study to test the entire life span of laboratory rats, newly published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Food and Chemical Toxicology, also found health impacts for rats exposed to Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup, the widest-selling herbicide in the world.

The French study, while challenged by some experts, is being taking seriously by the French government. On Thursday, it ordered an urgent review of the study assessing the safety of GM corn and said it will work for a Europewide ban of imports of the crop if the findings were found to be conclusive.

In Canada, where the GM corn is grown and used for animal feed and processed food ingredients, Health Canada said it would be premature to offer its assessment, saying departmental scientists are currently reviewing the findings.

However, Boko Haram has not confirmed that Abu Qaqa has been killed.

A military spokesman told the BBC that two militant suspects had been arrested, one of whom later died but his identity remains unknown.

Boko Haram has staged numerous attacks across northern and central Nigeria, killing some 1,400 people.
The military has previously claimed to have arrested Abu Qaqa but this was denied by Boko Haram, who said the wrong man had been detained.

House approves 'Stop the War on Coal' bill in last act before November election

Pete Kasperowicz
The Hill
September 21, 2012

The House approved a bill Friday morning that would significantly deregulate the coal industry, in a vote that was the last legislative act of the House before the November election.

The Stop the War on Coal Act, H.R. 3409, was approved in a 233-175 vote, although as usual, the bill many Democrats described as anti-environmental still found some Democratic support — 19 Democrats voted for it.

The legislation is a combination of five bills that would overturn or prevent an array of regulations that Republicans say would harm the coal industry and the economy. Among other things, it would block the Environmental Protection Agency's ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants and other sources, and prevent rules on the storage and disposal of coal ash and limit Clean Water Act rules.

It would also prevent potential Interior Department rules to toughen environmental controls on mountaintop removal coal mining, and thwart other air emissions rules, including air toxics standards for coal-fired power plants.

Republicans say the bill is needed because power companies plan to close some coal-fired plants due to the EPA's air emissions rules, and because of additional EPA and Interior Department rules affecting coal mining. The GOP says that taken together, the Obama administration's regulations on the industry amount to a "war on coal."

“Free Syrian Army” Claims HQ in Syria: Were They Ousted by Turkey, or Are They Trying to Get Bombed to Plead for NATO No-Fly Zone?

Monsanto Launches Damage Control Over GMO/Cancer Study

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars
September 24, 2012

Biotech giant Monsanto has launched a desperate damage control effort in the aftermath of a French study which found that rats fed on Monsanto’s genetically-engineered corn were far more likely to suffer tumors, organ failure and premature death.

Aside from the details of the study, a wider question remains. If Monsanto and other GMO giants are so confident in the safety of their products and have no qualms about them being in the food supply, why have they spent a combined total of over $19 million dollars in an attempt to prevent Americans from knowing that their food is genetically modified?

Monsanto has bankrolled a huge campaign fronted by lobbyists in an effort to sink California’s Proposition 37, a bill that would simply mandate genetically modified food and ingredients be labeled at the retail level.

If genetically-modified food is safe and the studies have proven it is safe, why is Monsanto so desperate to keep its presence in our food hidden?

The recent study, conducted by scientists at the University of Caen and published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology, found that 50 percent of male and 70 percent of female rats fed on a diet containing NK603 – a genetically modified corn produced by Monsanto – or those exposed to Monsanto’s Roundup weedkiller – suffered tumors and multiple organ damage, causing them to die prematurely.

Monsanto immediately went into spin mode, issuing a press release over the weekend claiming that toxicologists and public health experts had found “fundamental problems with the study design,” without specifically explaining what those problems were.

From Zyklon B to GM corn: How GMOs transformed food into a globalist weapon

Mike Adams
Natural News
September 24, 2012

Zyklon B is a very effective chemical for killing humans. The trick is getting the victims to inhale it. Since most people won't voluntarily inhale Zyklon B gas, you have to use some means of force to march them into chambers where the gas is released. Hence the use of guns in the hands of governments, the rise of the SS (known as "TSA" in modern America), and the rounding up of innocent citizens to be gassed to death during the Nazi regime. "Nazi," by the way, is shorthand for "national socialist party."

The Nazi approach to killing people was very effective in 1944, but it wouldn't fly today in the age of instant messaging, Twitter, Facebook and other social media. It's hard to keep a concentration camp a secret these days, especially if millions of people are being processed through them. If the Nazis had cell phone cameras in 1944, somebody would have snapped some photos, uploaded them to "NaziTube.com" and the whole cover would have been blown. (Or YouTube would have censored the videos and protected the Nazis from being outed, because YouTube routinely censors videos that expose bad government.)

Fast forward six decades or so, and you've got our modern world. All the same types of psychopathic killers still run the world's most powerful governments and corporations, but they've figured out that in order to kill people, they've got to do it a little more covertly.

Specifically, there needed to be a way to get people to voluntarily kill themselves.

Americans Are Literally Being Worked To Death

Michael Snyder
The Economic Collapse
September 24, 2012

Are you constantly tired and do you feel incredibly stressed almost all the time?  Well, that means that there is a really good chance that you are a typical American worker.  Even though our incomes are going down, Americans are spending more time at work than ever before.  In fact, U.S. workers spend more time at work than anyone else in the world.  But it was not always this way.  Back in 1970, the average work week for an American worker was about 35 hours.  Today, it is up to 46 hours.  But there are other major economies around the globe that are doing just fine without burning their workers out.  For example, the average American worker spends 378 more hours working per year than the average German worker does.  Sadly, for many Americans work is not even finished once they leave the office.  According to one recent survey, the average American worker spends an extra seven hours per week on work tasks such as checking emails and answering phone calls after normal work hours have finished.  Other Americans are juggling two or three jobs in a desperate attempt to make ends meet.  Americans are busier than ever and work is often pushing the other areas of our lives on to the back burner.  What this also means is that "family vacations" are becoming increasingly rare in the United States.  In fact, Americans spend less days on vacation than anyone else in the industrialized world.  While some would applaud our "work ethic", the truth is that the fact that we are being overworked is having some very serious consequences.  In fact, as you will see below, Americans are literally being worked to death.

The following is an excerpt from a comment that one reader posted on one of my recent articles.  Can you identify with what this family is going through?....
I always try and remember to be thankful and say prayers of gratitude for the blessings I have, however I can tell you that my wife and I are getting more and more exhausted.
Straight forward payroll taxes nailed us for $35k last year and the dozens of other taxes are often over-looked but also hitting us harder and harder.

My wife works 14 hour shifts at her dialysis clinic 3 days a week and every other weekend. On the Tuesdays and thursdays she has off she ends up resting half the day to give her poor feet a break since a nurse on her feet 14 straight hours of continual busyness is exhausting.

Obama says 'blocking out' Israeli 'noise'

Yitzhak Benhorin
YNET News
September 24, 2012

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama described the Israeli pressure to draw a "red line" for Iran as "noise" he is trying to block out.

In an interview with CBS' "60 Minutes" that aired Sunday, the president addressed the crisis between Washington and Jerusalem over the handling of the Iranian nuclear issue. Obama stressed he feels "an obligation, not pressure" to coordinate with Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli and US officials are still struggling to reach understandings on the matter behind the scenes. US Ambassador to Washington Michael Oren has traveled to Israel to meet Netanyahu before the latter heads to New York for the UN's General Assembly on Wednesday night.

Obama said he "understands and shares" the Israeli prime minister's "insistence" that Iran should not obtain a nuclear weapon as this "would threaten us, it would threaten Israel and it would threaten the world and kick off a nuclear arms race."

Unelected European “Green” Commissioner Says Markets Must be Governed

Jurriaan Maessen

September 23, 2012

Unelected European commissioner for the environment calls for de-industrialization of the West and centralization of power to govern free markets

Speaking at a recent European summit on the future of plastics in the world economy, the European Commission’s “green” commissioner Janez Potočnik stated that markets can and must be governed by the European Commission if the earth’s resources are to keep up with global population growth.

http://explosivereports.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/ec1.jpgIn a transcript of his speech on the EC’s website, marked “check before delivery”, Potočnik quoted his “good friend” Achim Steiner, Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, as saying the idea of governing markets was agreed upon when Agenda 21 was formally created in 1992 at the original Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro:

“Twenty years ago, we agreed what to do, now we have the tools to do it. If we do not go into the heart of economic policy, we will meet here at Rio+40 even more culpable. Markets are social constructs. They are not a force like gravity. They can be governed.”

New York Times a “Propaganda Megaphone” for War, Says Former Reporter

Alex Newman
The New American
September 213, 2012

The New York Times has essentially become a “propaganda megaphone” to peddle the establishment’s narrative — especially when it comes to war — charged foreign correspondent Daniel Simpson, who resigned from the paper in disgust. According to Simpson, the paper, which is often lambasted and ridiculed by conservatives and libertarians for its blatant “liberal” bias, is actually just a propaganda tool for the ruling establishment.

In an explosive interview with the Kremlin-funded RT media broadcaster, the former Times correspondent, who was based in the Balkans during his stint at the newspaper, offered an inside look at how it all works. What appears to have bothered him more than anything was how the supposed paper “of record” was so determined to sell the Iraq war to the American people, even if it meant basically lying or repeating government lies to do so.

"It seemed pretty glaringly obvious to me that the 'news fit to print' was pretty much the news that's fit to serve the powerful," Simpson explained, citing the warmongering over Iraq as a prime example. "The way that the paper's senior staff think is exactly like those in power — in fact, it's their job to become their friends."

An ambitious reporter, Simpson joined the paper a decade ago when he was just 27 years old. He had been hired to report on the Balkans, where the U.S. government and other Western powers had intervened in an internal conflict. However, within a few months, disillusioned by the Times' war-mongering, he resigned.

"I was young and naive and idealistic, I suppose. I thought I was going to be holding people in power to account," said Simpson, who wrote a recently published book about his experiences entitled A Rough Guide to the Dark Side. "It turned out instead that when I joined in 2002, the New York Times was very much engaged in doing exactly what those in power wanted them to do, and printing fake intelligence information to start the war in Iraq."

As the establishment’s propaganda about "Weapons of Mass Destruction" in Iraq was getting in full swing, Simpson said he was asked to report bogus information about Serbians selling WMD delivery parts to Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. The Serbs, however, were actually just selling spare airplane parts, not WMD delivery systems, he explained.

Iran's IRGC prepared to defend itself against any enemy

If Israel Prepares for Attack, Iran Will Strike Preemptively

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars
September 23, 2012

Amir Ali Hajizadeh, a brigadier general heading up the aerospace division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. (IRGC), has told Iran’s Arabic language Al-Alam television that his country will strike preemptively if it detects preparations by Israel for an attack.

“Iran will not start any war but it could launch a preemptive attack if it was sure that the enemies are putting the final touches to attack it,” the military commander said.

Hajizadeh said an attack by Israel would be supported by the United States. “For this reason, we will enter a confrontation with both parties and will definitely be at war with American bases should a war break out,” he said, mentioning U.S. bases in Bahrain, Qatar and Afghanistan as targets.

The U.S. Fifth Fleet is stationed in Bahrain. According to U.S. government figures, there are 68,000 American troops in Afghanistan.

Stop Imperialism Podcast - Episode 41

film123.jpg

In today's episode:

Subverting Sanctions: Iran’s Strategic Economic Development

Iran_img1.jpgThe ongoing overt and covert war against Iran, instigated by the United States and Israel primarily, seeks to isolate Iran politically, militarily and, most importantly, economically.  The Western imperialists have as their goal no less than full-scale war with Iran, a key regional power and one that the United States has failed to control or otherwise manipulate since the revolution of 1979.  Their attempts to demonize Iran as an international pariah and an irrational actor on the world stage have been repeatedly thwarted, most recently at the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran, where two thirds of the world stood alongside Iran in condemning the sanctions imposed by the US and its European allies.  However, Iran’s response to the series of aggressions and provocations by the West is not purely a diplomatic one as evidenced by the summit. Rather, Iran is engaging in a process of economic cooperation and mutual development with powerful regional and international partners – a process which could marry the economic future of Iran with that of other nations – thereby countering the continued attempts at economic strangulation by the West.

The Painful Reality of Sanctions

It is easy to think of the sanctions as a tactic in a political and diplomatic chess game between Washington and Tehran: they undoubtedly are part of such a match.  However, the reality of the sanctions is that they are an economic weapon trained directly at the people of Iran, despite whatever rhetoric may emanate from Washington regarding the targeting of the regime.  In fact, the sanctions are one of the most potent weapons in the imperialist arsenal, used by those in power in their attempt to foment chaos and unrest in Iran and topple the government from within.
