Police in Egypt have fired tear gas at supporters of ousted president
Mohamed Morsi, as the US insists it is not siding with the country’s
military.
According to one security official, clashes erupted when protesters
tried to storm Media Production City, a compound based in a Cairo suburb
that is home to many satellite TV channels.
Demonstrators threw gas canisters fired from armoured vehicles back towards police lines.
