NYPD Aiming to Stop the Public Finding Out About Crimes

New York has 77 police precincts and all of them have been told to stop providing the media with details of local crimes that take place.

Starting January, all media requests for information have to go through the Deputy Commission For Public Information (DCPI).

Journalists will no longer have access to crime reports.
