Regime Change in Ukraine and the IMF’s Bitter “Economic Medicine”

In the days following the Ukraine coup d’Etat of February 23, leading to the ousting of a duly elected president, Wall Street and the IMF–in liaison with the US Treasury and the European Commission in Brussels– had already set the stage for the outright takeover of Ukraine’s monetary system. The EuroMaidan protests leading up to “regime change” and the formation of an interim government were followed by purges within key ministries and government bodies.

The Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Ihor Sorkin was fired on February 25th and replaced by a new governor: Stepan Kubiv.

Stepan Kubiv is a member of Parliament of the Rightist Batkivshchyna “Fatherland” faction in the Rada led by the acting Prime Minister Arseny Yatsenyuk (founded by Yulia Tymoshenko in March 1999). He previously headed Kredbank, a Ukrainian financial institution largely owned by EU capital, with some 130 branches throughout Ukraine. Ukraine Central Bank Promises Liquidity To Local Banks, With One Condition, Zero Hedge, February 27, 2014).

Kubic is no ordinary bank executive. He was one of the first field “commandants” of the EuroMaidan riots alongside Andriy Parubiy co-founder of the Neo-Nazi Social-National Party of Ukraine (subsequently renamed Svoboda) and Dimitry Yarosh, leader of the Right Sector Brown Shirts, which now has the status of a political party.

Kubiv was in the Maidan square addressing protesters on February 18, at the very moment when armed Right Sector thugs under the helm of Dmitry Yarosh were raiding the parliament building.

A few days later, upon the establishment of the interim government, Stepan Kubiv was put in charge of negotiations with Wall Street and the IMF.
The new Minister of Finance Aleksandr Shlapak is a political crony of Viktor Yushchenko –a long-time protegé of the IMF who was spearheaded into the presidency following the 2004 “Colored Revolution”. Shlapak held key positions in the office of the presidency under Yushchenko as well as at the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). In 2010, upon Yushchenko’s defeat, Aleksandr Shlapak joined a shadowy Bermuda based offshore financial outfit IMG International Ltd (IMG), holding the position of Vice President. Based in Hamilton, Bermuda, IMG specialises in “captive insurance management”, reinsurance and “risk transfer.”

Western Looting Of Ukraine Has Begun

It is now apparent that the “Maiden protests” in Kiev were in actuality a Washington organized coup against the elected democratic government. The purpose of the coup is to put NATO military bases on Ukraine’s border with Russia and to impose an IMF austerity program that serves as cover for Western financial interests to loot the country. The sincere idealistic protesters who took to the streets without being paid were the gullible dupes of the plot to destroy their country.

Politically Ukraine is an untenable aggregation of Ukrainian and Russian territory, because traditional Russian territories were stuck into the borders of the Ukraine Soviet Republic by Lenin and Khrushchev. The Crimea, stuck into Ukraine by Khrushchev, has already departed and rejoined Russia. Unless some autonomy is granted to them, Russian areas in eastern and southern Ukraine might also depart and return to Russia. If the animosity displayed toward the Russian speaking population by the stooge government in Kiev continues, more defections to Russia are likely.

Hands Off Our Vaccine Exemptions

I am generally a nice person. As long as someone or something does not infringe upon my rights as a parent or individual I try to stay out of it. And that’s exactly how I feel about vaccinations. I encourage you to educate yourself but ultimately, you have the the final say. That’s how it is here in the United States of America, we have the freedom to choose, freedom to parent our kids the way we see fit, and freedom from government interference into the most intimate aspects of our lives whether we are religious or not.

Or so I thought…

There was a piece published by the New York Times recently written by Dr. Kristen Feemster (a pediatric infectious disease physician who profits from “professionally advising” pharmaceutical companies and feels that a parent’s decision not to vaccinate may warrant a call to Child Protective Services) that urged the scientific and public health communities to curtail vaccine exemptions. In case you’re wondering, a vaccine exemption allows an individual to forgo the vaccination for medical, religious, and sometimes philosophical reasons. The reason for trumping these rights? The public good.

There Really Were Yellowstone Earthquakes the Weekend of March 30

Heather Callaghan

There are over 3,000 earthquakes per year at Yellowstone Park, home to one of the world's largest super volcanoes - Yellowstone Caldera. Most of them are mini-quakes.

This past weekend, on Sunday March 30th, however, three earthquakes broke out and one of then was quite sizable. In fact, it was the largest earthquake to hit in 34 years - February 22, 1980.

Five people — including three Americans — held hostage by militants at an aid organization’s guest house in Kabul were freed Friday after a standoff with police.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid explained the building was targeted because it was used by foreigners as a church to convert Afghans to Christianity.

Afghan Ministry of Interior spokesman Sediq Sediqqi identified U.S.-based aid organization Roots of Peace, which has had a presence in Afghanistan since 2003, as the militants’ target.

The Face of Poverty: Homeless Jobless Single Mom With Lousy Options Arrested For Being Homeless Jobless Single Mom Who Chose One of Them

Abby Zimet

The awful story of Shanesha Taylor is what's wrong with the state of our union: The mother of two from Scottsdale, Arizona got called to a job interview she urgently needed. With no place to leave her two young kids - no neighbors because she's homeless, no co-workers because she's jobless, no paid childcare because she has no money, no free childcare because our government, which at the same time is trying to restrict birth control so women have to have more kids they don't have the resources to care for - she left them in her car, with the windows cracked, at naptime.

When she came back from the interview 45 minutes later, someone had called the police, who arrested her, charged her with two child abuse felonies, put her in in Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Maricopa County Jail, and put her kids in state custody. "She was upset," notes a police sergeant, who called it "a sad situation all around." It's also a desperate move by a beleaguered woman facing impossible choices. Leaving small kids alone in a potentially hot car - even strapped into their carseats with the windows cracked - is a terrible idea. Another terrible idea: Arizona cutting 40 percent of its total childcare budget in the past four years, while spending upwards of $1 billion on its prisons, while states all across this fine land likewise, ruthlessly cut budgets for childcare, health care, job training and housing while providing tax cuts to corporations and prisons, thus turning on its head the notion that the task of any civilized society is to care for "the last, the least, the littlest." These skewered policies and priorities have consequences. One of them is named Shanesha Taylor. She reportedly remains in jail, though her family is said to have posted bail, and a local woman has begun a fundraiser to help with legal expenses. So there is good in the world. It's just in the wrong - ie: powerless - places.

"Every day in this country some women are coerced or forced by circumstances into doing things they don’t want to do. For many women, it is the only static condition of their ever changing lives: to regularly feel required to make hard choices among, at times, very poor options.”

Fighting the Militarized State

The Barack Obama administration, determined to thwart the attempt by other plaintiffs and myself to have the courts void a law that permits the military to arrest U.S. citizens, strip them of due process and indefinitely detain them, has filed a detailed brief with the Supreme Court asking the justices to refuse to accept our petition to hear our appeal. We will respond within 10 days.

“The administration’s unstated goal appears to be to get court to agree that [the administration] has the authority to use the military to detain U.S. citizens,” Bruce Afran, one of two attorneys handling the case, said when I spoke with him Sunday. “It appears to be asking the court to go against nearly 150 years of repeated decisions in which the court has refused to give the military such power. No court in U.S. history has ever recognized the right of the government to use the military to detain citizens. It would be very easy for the government to state in the brief that citizens and permanent residents are not within the scope of this law. But once again, it will not do this. It says the opposite. It argues that the activities of the plaintiffs do not fall within the scope of the law, but it clearly is reserving for itself the right to use the statute to detain U.S. citizens indefinitely.”

The lawsuit, Hedges v. Obama, challenges Section 1021(b)(2) of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). It was signed into law the last day of 2011. Afran and fellow attorney Carl Mayer filed the lawsuit in January 2012. I was later joined by co-plaintiffs Noam Chomsky, Daniel Ellsberg, journalist Alexa O’Brien, Tangerine Bolen, Icelandic parliamentarian Birgitta Jonsdottir and Occupy London activist Kai Wargalla.

U.S. District Judge Katherine B. Forrest of the Southern District of New York, in a rare act of courage on the American bench today, declared Section 1021(b)(2) unconstitutional. The Obama administration immediately asked Forrest to lift her injunction and thereby put the law back into effect until it could appeal her decision. She rebuffed the government’s request. The government went to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit to ask it to stay the district court’s injunction until the government’s appeal could be heard. The 2nd Circuit consented to the request. The law went back on the books.

12 Signs That Something Big Is Happening To The Earth’s Crust Under North And South America

Economic Collapse
March 31, 2014

Image: Andes, Chile (Wiki Commons).
Why are fault lines and volcanoes all over North and South America suddenly waking up?  Are we moving into a time when major earthquakes and volcanic eruptions will become much more common?  For the past several decades, we have been extremely fortunate to have experienced a period of extremely low seismic activity along the west coast of the United States.  You see, the west coast lies right along the infamous Ring of Fire.

Approximately 75 percent of all the volcanoes in the world are on the Ring of Fire, and approximately 90 percent of all global earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire.  Scientists tell us that it is inevitable that “the Big One” will hit California someday, but people have gotten very apathetic about this because things have been so quiet out there for so many years.  Well, now it appears that things are changing in a big way – and not just along the California coast.  The following are 12 signs that something big is happening to the earth’s crust under North and South America…

#1 The 5.1 earthquake that shook Los Angeles on Friday was the worst earthquake that the city had seen in many years.

#2 Following that earthquake, there were more than 100 aftershocks.

#3 A 4.1 earthquake shook Los Angeles on Saturday.  Scientists are hoping that this earthquake swarm in southern California will end soon.

#4 Earlier this month, a 4.4 earthquake rattled Los Angeles so badly that it caused news anchors to dive under their desks.

Aid to Ukraine Is a Bad Deal For All

Ron Paul
Progressive Gazette
March 31, 2014

Last week Congress overwhelmingly passed a bill approving a billion dollars in aid to Ukraine and more sanctions on Russia. The bill will likely receive the president’s signature within days. If you think this is the last time US citizens will have their money sent to Ukraine, you should think again. This is only the beginning.

This $1 billion for Ukraine is a rip-off for the America taxpayer, but it is also a bad deal for Ukrainians. Not a single needy Ukrainian will see a penny of this money, as it will be used to bail out international banks who hold Ukrainian government debt. According to the terms of the International Monetary Fund (IMF)-designed plan for Ukraine, life is about to get much more difficult for average Ukrainians. The government will freeze some wage increases, significantly raise taxes, and increase energy prices by a considerable margin.

But the bankers will get paid and the IMF will get control over the Ukrainian economy.

The bill also authorizes more US taxpayer money for government-funded “democracy promotion” NGOs, and more money to broadcast US government propaganda into Ukraine via Radio Free Europe and Voice of America. It also includes some saber-rattling, directing the US Secretary of State to “provide enhanced security cooperation with Central and Eastern European NATO member states.”

The US has been “promoting democracy” in Ukraine for more than ten years now, but it doesn’t seem to have done much good. Recently a democratically-elected government was overthrown by violent protestors. That is the opposite of democracy, where governments are changed by free and fair elections. What is shocking is that the US government and its NGOs were on the side of the protestors! If we really cared about democracy we would not have taken either side, as it is none of our business.

Protests Rage In Taiwan Over China Trade Deal

With the taste of the Libyan tragedy, the Syrian destabilization, and the Ukrainian coup still lingering in the mouths of the citizens of those nations, the unfortunate fruits of those labors are now clearly visible in the enormous death toll, savagery, and austerity that is currently engulfing the victim countries.

Those destabilization campaigns, all initiated with violence from the beginning, yet portrayed as “peaceful democracy-loving protesters” by the Western media, were paraded in front of millions of American television screens night after night for the purpose of propagandizing a frighteningly gullible public at home who themselves have a natural inclination toward supporting the underdog in any given fight (unless that underdog is the overt target of the United States).

Still, while these protests were ever-present on American television screens, there was a stunning lack of air time devoted to the protests taking place in Thailand, a rare example of organic mass mobilization of everyday people disgusted with the incompetence and oppression of their ruling regime.

As is the case in Thailand, there remains a stunning lack of 24-hour coverage of the protests taking place in Taiwan, where a movement of activists, mainly young people, have taken to the streets in protest of a new trade agreement being negotiated between Taiwan and China.

One Percenter Convicted Of Raping Infant Child Dodges Jail Because He ‘Will Not Fare Well’

A Delaware man convicted of raping his three-year-old daughter only faced probation after a state Superior Court judge ruled he “will not fare well” in prison.

In her decision, Judge Jan Jurden suggested Robert H. Richards IV would benefit more from treatment. Richards, who was charged with fourth-degree rape in 2009, is an unemployed heir living off his trust fund. The light sentence has only became public as the result of a subsequent lawsuit filed by his ex-wife, which charges that he penetrated his daughter with his fingers while masturbating, and subsequently assaulted his son as well.

Richards is the great grandson of du Pont family patriarch Irenee du Pont, a chemical baron.

According to the lawsuit filed by Richards’ ex-wife, he admitted to assaulting his infant son in addition to his daughter between 2005 and 2007. Richards was initially indicted on two counts of second-degree child rape, felonies that translate to a 10-year mandatory jail sentence per count. He was released on $60,000 bail while awaiting his charges.

Trix of the Trade - Satire!

Chris Veritas
Some Cry Wolf

AP

In increasingly unsurprising news, the AP has discovered that the brand known as "Trix" cereal is imbued with paint thinner.

Commentators have responded, "Well, with a name like that, what did you expect?"

Taking the subject a bit further, anxious mothers who have been feeding their children this garbage, we mean, food, have taken to the streets, protesting and rioting. Kathleen Halberd said for the group, "Just what sort of "tricks" are you employing here, sir?"

All of this took place in front of General Mills headquarters; the rioting, the looting, everything! It was sensational news, which we love, because we are impartial observers.

A spokesman for "Trix" responded. "Ha! Good one. By the way, the cereal is radioactive. And it's not cereal."

Deranged mother number two, Michelle Wiseman, stood up and took the microphone. "All puns aside, we kind of feel like you guys are killing our children. Can you reassure us, please?

The spokesman replied, "With all due respect ma'am, you are the ones killing your children. We just supply the bullets. Have you looked at what you are feeding them? At the advertising images? At the way we manipulate you? But here I am, giving away the tricks of the trade."

After he had said that, the mothers became even more unmanageable, and began to storm the podium. But just then, a giant screen flashed on in front of them, and they were immediately pacified.

R2P: The Tables Turn on the West in Crimea

ox281265770633091448

March 27, 2014

 - R2P, or the “responsibility to protect,” was a geopolitical tool used by the West after thoroughly destabilizing a nation through armed proxies to then intervene militarily, enact regime change, occupy, and reorder the nation both economically and sociopolitically. It has been used to devastating effect in Serbia in the carving out of Kosovo, as well as more recently in Libya

In Kosovo, the Canadian National Post would report in their article, “U.S. supported al-Qaeda cells during Balkan Wars,” that:
In the years immediately before the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999, the al-Qaeda militants moved into Kosovo, the southern province of Serbia, to help ethnic Albanian extremists of the KLA mount their terrorist campaign against Serb targets in the region.
The mujahedeen “were financed by Saudi and United Arab Emirates money,” said one Western military official, asking anonymity. “They were mercenaries who were not running the show in Kosovo, but were used by the KLA to do their dirty work.”
The United States, which had originally trained the Afghan Arabs during the war in Afghanistan, supported them in Bosnia and then in Kosovo. When NATO forces launched their military campaign against Yugoslavia three years ago to unseat Mr. Milosevic, they entered the Kosovo conflict on the side of the KLA, which had already received “substantial” military and financial support from bin Laden’s network, analysts say.
This reveals that the war itself was initially precipitated by NATO and thereafter expanded through the intentional training, funding, and arming of terrorists imported into the region with the specific goal of creating enough bloodshed to justify NATO intervention and the subsequent geopolitical reordering of Serbia.
In Libya, in 2011, not only was the West openly funding and arming the Al Qaeda franchise, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), but the so-called atrocities cited by the West to invoke the “responsibility to protect” were admittedly fabricated by Western-backed Libyan “human rights” advocates making the claims.
Dr. Sliman Bouchuiguir of the US-French affiliated Libyan League for Human Rights openly admitted to documentary makers that the “atrocities” used by NATO to militarily intervene in Libya were fabrications and that the West, not his organization, orchestrated the assembling of over 70 NGOs – which he notes were already well “acquainted.”
In a video documentary titled, “Lies behind the “Humanitarian War” in Libya: There is no evidence!,” Bouchuiguir openly admits that there was no way to generate actual numbers regarding the atrocities he cited, and that all of his numbers are what he called “estimations” which originated not from documented fieldwork, but from the opposition’s leadership – in other words, compromised, baseless claims made by biased sources, laundered through “trusted” Western NGOs to appear out the other end as fact.
It was on these baseless opposition claims that NATO would militarily intervene in Libya, where documented atrocities would then actually take place, including the surrounding, intentional starvation, and NATO aerial bombardment of the cities of Sirte and Bani Walid as well as the racially-motivated, genocidal purging of cities like Tawarga

The Real Threat in Ukraine

Unlike in Serbia and Libya, where the West depended on fabricated narratives and contrived atrocities to vilify governments it sought to overthrow – with lengthy and absurd narratives describing the alleged ideologies that drove each government to commit atrocities that in fact never took place, in Kiev, the US-backed regime that has seized power, openly and enthusiastically embraces the ideology of Adolf Hitler’s Nazism.

STUDY: Infants at Risk from Hidden Fluoride Exposure in Commercial Foods

Derrick Broze
Activist Post

According to a new study published in the journal General Dentistry infants are at risk of dental fluorosis due to overexposure from fluoride in commercially available infant foods.

The researchers analyzed 360 different samples of 20 different foods ranging from fruits and vegetables, chicken, turkey, beef, and vegetarian dinners. All of the foods tested had detectable amounts of fluoride ranging from .007-4.13 micrograms of fluoride per gram of food. Chicken products had the highest concentrations of fluoride, followed by turkey.

The New York State Coalition Opposed to Fluoridation (NYSCOF) reports that the fluoride levels were due to pesticides, fertilizers, soil, groundwater, and/or fluoridated water. The high levels found in the chicken and turkey can be attributed to “fluoride-saturated bone dust” involved in the process of mechanically separating the meat.

“Turkey’s facilitation of al-Qaeda affiliated foreign fighters and their attacks on innocent civilians in Syria undermines ongoing US and international efforts to bring peace to a country ravaged by violence for far too long,” Ken Hachikian, chairman of the Armenian National Committee of America, wrote in a letter to President Barack Obama.

Ukraine May Ban Radical Group after Parliament Siege

The radical group Right Sector could be banned in Ukraine after around 2,000 of its supporters encircled and threatened to storm the country’s parliament late Thursday, a source in Yulia Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchyna party told RIA Novosti.

Late Thursday night, ultranationalists from Right Sector encircled the parliament building, demanding the country’s interior minister stand trial for the killing of notorious right-wing militant Olexander Muzychko, who died on Monday in a shootout with police.

Muzychko, also known as Sashko Bilyi, was wanted by Russian authorities for war atrocities in Russia’s republic of Chechnya, including the torture of Russian soldiers. He had earlier accused Ukrainian prosecutors and police of a plot to kill him.

The radicals that blockaded parliament Thursday later announced they were postponing the storming of the building until Friday morning.

Following Thursday’s siege, top Ukrainian officials held an emergency meeting, at which Interior Minister Avakov suggested an outright ban on Right Sector.

Andriy Parubiy, the head of the national security and defense council, reportedly supported the motion, adding the move would allow those present to whitewash themselves of ties with the radicals.
Russia has consistently warned that the new government in the country, which came to power last month unconstitutionally, has a dangerous fascist element of Ukrainian ultra-nationalism, leading Moscow to take steps to protect ethnic Russians in Ukraine.

The First Russian Casualty: World’s Largest Aluminum Company, Rusal, Warns It May Default

Zero Hedge
March 28, 2014

Credit: http://images-of-elements.com/
Credit: http://images-of-elements.com/
While it is easy to blame western sanctions for the recent tribulations at the world’s largest aluminum company, Oleg Deripaska’s Rusal, the reality is that the industry specific issues plaguing aluminum makers, certainly including former Dow Jones Industrial Average member Alcoa, which involve a fair share of manipulation of physical inventories at assorted global warehouses are much more responsible than some theatrical rhetoric flaring up between the West and East in the past month.

Regardless of the cause, as FT reports, Rusal just announced it is on the verge of insolvency after it warned of “material uncertainty” about its future, and that it has asked its creditors to delay repayment on a maturity from its $10 billion debt pile due next month.
From the FT:
Rusal warned of “material uncertainty” over its future as the world’s largest aluminium producer reported a $3.2bn loss in its worst annual performance since 2008.
The Russian aluminium group, controlled by Oleg Deripaska and listed in Hong Kong, confirmed that it had asked lenders to delay a repayment due next month on part of its $10bn net debt pile.
It said that it expected to complete long-running negotiations with its banks to amend the terms of its debt, but warned that there could be no certainty it would succeed.
“Management acknowledge that these conditions result in the existence of a material uncertainty with respect to the group’s ability to continue as a going concern,” the company said. Rusal’s auditor, KPMG, included an “emphasis of matter” paragraph in its report on the company’s earnings statement to draw attention to the issue.

Any other time, a successful waiver or debt extension (at a price) would have been guaranteed, thank the unprecedented amount of liquidity sloshing around desperate to earning some, any return, but now that politicians are involved, it would not be surprising if a Steve Ratner-type figure were to make a few phone calls to Rusal’s offshore lenders, and force them to demand payment or else put the company – long a shining star of the Russian commodity landscape – in default, a move which would certainly leave a mark on Vladimir Putin’s ego, if not his bottom line. After all, Putin would certainly enjoy getting additional “equity” stakes in other domestic commodity companies in exchange for bail outs.

NATO's Proxy Offensive Continues in Northern Syria

 - Fighting on the Syrian-Turkish border near the northwestern Syrian town of Kassab between AlQaeda insurgents Jabhat Al Nusra and the Syrian military continues for the fifth day.

Insurgents are shelling the towns near Kassab in Latakia province while the military is returning fire on their positions.

Point 45, a strategic hilltop overlooking Latakia's countryside and Kassab, was regained by the Syrian army, initially lost to the mlitants flooding in from the Turkish side of the border.

Meanwhile the insurgents are reported to have moved through Kassab village reaching the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

No Response from the Predictably Silent United Nations
The Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations, Bashaar al Jaafari, has sent an official letter to the UN Security Council regarding Turkey's support of the Al Qaeda offensive in Syria. Early in the battle Turkey shot down a Syrian jet firing at Al Qaeda targets flooding in from the Turkish border. In turn Russia proposed a UN Security Council statement on Al Qaeda's shelling of Latakia province.
Armenians gathered Wednesday outside UN Commission headquarters in the Armenian capital Yerevan to protest what they saw as a Turkish-led Al Qaeda attack on the Armenian village in Kassab. Thousands of Armenians settled in Syria after the genocide of Armenians by the Ottoman Empire in 1915. The Attack on Kassab resulted in thousands of Armenians fleeing the area.

"We condemn UN silence over this crime and believe that it is a tacit approval of Turkey's conduct,'' the protestors told journalists.

The Militarized U.S. Police, by the Numbers (w/Infographic)

Dees Illustration

Many of us know retired police officers who remember a world where it was considered a failure to draw a weapon unless under direct attack. Even if such an action was required, the result was nightmare inducing. Today's police seem to have lost such empathy. As a consequence, police are rarely a welcome sight these days; they are being equipped and trained as if they are an occupying force (even in small towns), replete with body armor, tactical gear, and vehicles coming straight from the US military at bargain prices.

Local police are being also being issued directives encouraging them to see members of their communities as potential domestic terrorists. The threat assessment language being used is the exact spur needed to create a feeling of impending attack and erase the lines between domestic peacekeeping and theater of war operations. Police, military, and the American people are being desensitized to this absolute perversion of American values and laws.

Thailand: Mass Mobilization This Saturday - March 29, 2014

March 25, 2014
Tony Cartalucci
Alt Thai News
Protesters in Thailand's capital of Bangkok are planning another mass march this Saturday in opposition of convicted criminal, fugitive, accused mass murderer, billionaire, autocrat Thaksin Shinawatra and his proxy regime. Protesters have been carrying out demonstrations continuously since late October 2013, including a lengthy "Occupy Bangkok" campaign preceding sham elections that saw 7 massive encampments across the city bring its major avenues to a standstill for weeks.

The elections resulted in an unprecedented nationwide boycott of the polls, where over half of all eligible Thai voters refused to cast their ballots. Of those that did, many chose to deface their ballots or mark "no vote" in protest of both the regime and the democratic process it has hijacked and hidden behind now for nearly a year of political division and national instability.

What Did Thaksin Shinawatra Do?

  • In the late 1990's, Thaksin was an adviser to notorious private equity firm, the Carlyle Group. He pledged to his foreign contacts that upon taking office, he would still serve as a "matchmaker" between the US equity fund and Thai businesses. It would represent the first of many compromising conflicts of interest that would undermine Thailand's sovereign under his rule.
  • Thaksin was Thailand's prime minister from 2001-2006. Has since dominated the various reincarnations of his political party - and still to this day runs the country by proxy, via his nepotist appointed sister, Yingluck Shinawatra.
  • In 2004, he oversaw the killing of 85 protesters in a single day during his mishandled, heavy-handed policy in the country's troubled deep south. The atrocity is now referred to as the "Tak Bai incident."

Albuquerque Police Killed ANOTHER Person a Few Hours After APD Shootings Protest

APD is an acronym for the Albuquerque Police Department.

In light of the string of recent fatal shootings by APD officers, some protesters have changed the meaning of the acronym to something chillingly appropriate:

Another Person Dead.

On March 16, APD officers executed James Boyd, a homeless man who was camping in the Sandia Foothills in the outskirts of Albuquerque.

On March 25, citizens marched through the streets of downtown Albuquerque to APD headquarters to protest the shooting of Boyd and others shot by APD officers. At least 1,000 people attended, including a number of elected officials, including State Rep. Moe Maestas, D-Albuquerque, and City Councilor Rey Garduno.

Iran Urges UN Action Over Soldiers Abducted by Sunni Extremists

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has urged the United Nations help to secure the release of Iranian border soldiers abducted by Sunni extremists, media reported Thursday.

Zarif sent a message to UN chief Ban Ki-moon Wednesday evening demanding action from the international community, saying “mere condemnation of acts of terrorism is not enough”.

His urgent plea to the UN chief came after Jaish-ul Adl, the rebel group operating in southeast Iran, claimed to have killed one of the five abducted soldiers and threatened further executions.

The buildup, officials say, is consistent with activities along the Russian border which preceded the invasions of Chechnya and Georgia.

Opposition politician Maria Corina Machado dared Venezuela’s leftist government to arrest her Wednesday, as President Nicolas Maduro’s administration carried out a widening crackdown on protesters.

Machado was a lawmaker until Monday, when National Assembly head Diosdado Cabello kicked her out, stripped her of parliamentary immunity, and threatened to arrest her for going before the Organization of American States as a guest of Panama to try to talk about her country’s crisis.

Fiery with defiance, Machado — who flew in from Peru Wednesday — said that she was still a legislator “because that’s what the Venezuelan people want, and I will continue doing it as long as Venezuela wants it.”

Scandal: Mass Media Censors Shocking Admission of Turkish False Flag

Corporate press brazenly lies about bombshell audio tape

The mainstream media has spun, mischaracterized and outright lied about a shocking leaked audio tape in which top Turkish military and political officials brazenly plan to stage a false flag attack on their own country in order to create a pretext for war on Syria.

Shocking details of dialogue between top Turkish officials reveals clear evidence of them scheming to launch a staged provocation against Turkish interests that would be blamed on Syria as a justification for military invasion.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan admitted the authenticity of the tape when he described the leaking of the audio as “villainous” and “immoral,” before moving to ban YouTube.

“I’ll make up a cause of war by ordering a missile attack on Turkey,” states Hakan Fidan, the head of Turkish intelligence.

“It’s a direct cause of war. I mean, what we’re going to do is a direct cause of war,” adds Deputy Chief of Military Staff Yasar Guler.

Plans to attack the Suleiman Shah Tomb, which is in Syria but considered Turkish territory and guarded by Turkish special forces, are also discussed, with Al-Qaeda terrorists playing the role of patsies.

Cut Wall Street Down To Size - Enact A 1% Wall Street Sales Tax

Austerity is a vicious spiral from which there is no automatic escape.

The current sequestration process, cutting everything from early childhood education to scientific research, is only the beginning.

This policy is not based on any principle of economics, but on Wall Street's intent to sacrifice American working families to their own insatiable greed for more money and power.

As the experience of World War 2 shows, the only way out is a New Deal.

We must cut Wall Street down to size, provide better protections and resources for the people, and rebuild the real economy of infrastructure, industry, agriculture and Main Street.

The first punch we need to land to initiate this process is a 1% Sales Tax on Wall Street's stocks, bonds and derivatives. They caused the economic depression - Make Them Pay!

Turkish Political and Military Leaders ADMIT to Planning False Flag Terror to Justify a War with Syria

Washington’s Blog
March 28, 2014

Zero Hedge reports:

As we noted here, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan had blocked Twitter access to his nation ahead of what was rumored to be a “spectacular” leak before this weekend’s elections. Then this morning, amid a mad scramble, he reportedly (despite the nation’s court ruling the bans illegal) blocked YouTube access. However, by the magic of the interwebs, we have the ‘leaked’ clip and it is clear why he wanted it blocked/banned. As the rough translation explains, it purports to be a conversation between key Turkish military and political leaders discussing what appears to be a false flag attack to launch war with Syria.
Among the most damning sections:
Ahmet Davutolu: “Prime Minister said that in current conjuncture, this attack (on Suleiman Shah Tomb) must be seen as an opportunity for us.”
Hakan Fidan: “I’ll send 4 men from Syria, if that’s what it takes. I’ll make up a cause of war by ordering a missile attack on Turkey; we can also prepare an attack on Suleiman Shah Tomb if necessary.”
Feridun Sinirliolu: “Our national security has become a common, cheap domestic policy outfit.”
Ya?ar Güler: “It’s a direct cause of war. I mean, what’re going to do is a direct cause of war.”

It has been revealed that NATO has been planning a false flag attack against Turkey to justify the Turkish invasion of northern Syria, the International Business Times reported in its article, “Turkey YouTube Ban: Full Transcript of Leaked Syria ‘War’ Conversation Between Erdogan Officials.”

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s ban of YouTube occurred after a leaked conversation between Head of Turkish Intelligence Hakan Fidan and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu that he wanted removed from the video-sharing website. It released the full transcript of a leaked conversation between the head of Turkish intelligence Hakan Fidan and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu. The Times reported:
The leaked call details Erdogan’s thoughts that an attack on Syria “must be seen as an opportunity for us [Turkey]“.
In the conversation, intelligence chief Fidan says that he will send four men from Syria to attack Turkey to “make up a cause of war”.
Deputy Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Yaşar Güler replies that Fidan’s projected actions are “a direct cause of war…what you’re going to do is a direct cause of war”.
Turkey’s foreign ministry said the leaked recording of top officials discussing the Syria operation was “partially manipulated” and is a “wretched attack” on national security.
In the leaked video, Fidan is discussing with Davutoğlu, Güler and other officials a possible operation within Syria to secure the tomb of Suleyman Shah, grandfather of the founder of the Ottoman empire.
The Western media has purposefully obsessed myopically over Turkey’s ban of Twitter and Facebook and leaks regarding “corruption,” in an attempt to sidestep conversations revealing Turkey, a NATO member for decades, planning a false flag attack that would lead to an intentionally provoked war with neighboring Syria.

Tymoshenko Makes Fascism Look Even Crazier

Billionaire "Gas princess" Yulia Tymoshenko, fresh out of prison and upheld by the western media as a "charismatic leader" and Ukraine's next likely PM, wants to liberate Russia and eastern Ukraine with nuclear genocide.

As RT reported earlier this week, Tymoshenko was taped in conversation with such delightful outbursts as:

"It's about time we grab our guns and go kill those damned Russians together with their leader."

[I'm ready to] “grab a machine gun and shoot that m*********er [Putin] in the head.”

"not even scorched earth won’t remain where Russia stands”

And to the question "What should we do now with the 8 million Russians in Ukraine," princess Yulia replies, "They must be killed with nuclear weapons."

It may be prudent for the IMF to wheel Tymoshenko back to the klink for another round of electroshock therapy – this is making fascism look kind of crazy.

Ukraine’s Right Sector Surrounds Parliament

View image on TwitterRight Sector nationalists encircled the Parliament building in Kyiv on Thursday demanding the immediate resignation and tribunal of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov who they hold responsible for the assassination of Aleksandr Muzychko.

The Right Sector leader was killed earlier this week in Rivne in western Ukraine. The circumstances surrounding Muzychko’s death are in dispute. He was either killed during a shoot-out with police at a cafe or was abducted and executed. Right Sector vowed to retaliate after the incident.

Around 2,000 members of the neofascist organization converged on the Verkhovna Rada Thursday evening and smashed glass door panes of the government building. The Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported parliament MPs had escaped through an underground tunnel. Security forces prepared to disperse the demonstration with water cannons, according to the Russian news network RT.

“We’ll wait for the negotiators from the Parliament, the MPs, but we won’t settle for Avakov’s resignation – we want his tribunal,” the activists said.

VA State Trooper sues blogger for defamation

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT)

A Virginia State Trooper filed a defamation lawsuit against a Mechanicsville man after he posted about a traffic stop online.

Nathan Cox claims Trooper Melanie McKenney violated his rights during the heated encounter over Memorial Day weekend 2012.

Cox, an Army veteran, says the trooper wouldn't let him properly record the stop with his cell phone. He posted about the stop online on the Virginia Copblock website. The cell phone and police dash camera video went viral.

Now, Trooper McKenney has filed suit against Cox for defamation.

During the incident, Cox says Trooper McKenney approached his car and immediately asked him to step out.

"I'm asking you to step out because if you have something in there," McKenney can be heard saying to Cox in the video.

"No ma'am, you're not taking my phone," replied Cox.

Cox says was trying to record the stop on his cell phone, which is legal if it doesn't interfere with an officer's work.

"It brings a level of accountability and transparency because cameras don't lie," explained Cox.

In the video, Trooper McKenney tells Cox she wasn't sure what he had in the car, after she says he made suspicious movements.

IMF Benevolence - High Oil Prices, Asset Stripping, and Privatization

Progressive Gazette

source
In its infinite benevolence, the IMF will now keep Ukraine alive just long enough to let American and European oligarchs pick its bones clean.

As reported here weeks ago, one condition of the loan is a rapid increase in the price of oil an...d gas.

As the neo-fascist dupes of Western Ukraine start to see the other costs of the loan – the cartel theft of oil infrastructure, the steel and coal industries and Ukraine's rich farmland for starters – they're going to put down their Stepan Bandera posters and swastika armbands and wonder why they rioted against the $15B loan agreement between Putin and Yanukovich.

That offer, made in December 2013, had no such conditions or privatizations, would have lowered the cost of gas, and would have brought Russian help to rebuild Ukraine's infrastructure and productive capabilities after decades of post-Soviet decline.

Maybe now the self-satisfied Putin-haters will understand why frontman Arseniy Yatseniuk described the coup as a "political kamikaze mission."
