The Revolution of Consciousness VS. The Revolution of Struggle

Photo: Why has the "revolution of consciousness" failed to materialize?

We've been told "Make love not war," "Give peace a chance," "Turn on, tune in, drop out." More recently, Occupy Wall Street told us to demand nothing and Russell Brand told us that "before we change the world, we need to change the way we think."

While there may be some philosophical food for thought in all this, one thing is for sure. None of it worked! We'll take our advice from Frederick Douglass, who assured us that "power concedes nothing without a demand," before proceeding to help wrest one of the biggest demands ever from the Anglo-Confederate slave empire.

Is it our destiny to wrest power from Wall Street and return it to our Republic? If so, the struggle won't occur in the mind, but in the realm of practical politics, with some leaders likely to pay the ultimate price for their courage.

However, your role in this struggle will indeed begin in your mind. Do you choose to sit on the sidelines, or do you choose to fight? Whether your role is as small as informing your friends or as large as seizing political power, you need to decide, and you need to act.

If you have the will, we have the way:
